‘Pertubuhan Pemulihan Dalam Komuniti Kiu’ (PDK Kiu) was established in 2008 to provide facilities for children with disabilities. Our humble beginning started at Kampung Pandan, Kuala Lumpur. We officially registered as a non-government organization in 2017.
We originally started as a pre-school for hearing-impaired kids, under the umbrella of the National Deaf Organization.
We use the Kiu’s Speech approach, which is a special learning method for deaf individuals.
Over time, we are facing bigger challenges as we are moving towards facilitating more diverse special students which not only focus on deaf kids, but also those who face different disabilities such as autism.
We have a total of 37 students from 3 to 9 years old. These little angels are hearing-impaired, with most of them having autism, speech delay and dyslexia.
